چکیده

This study focused on the elimination of chlorobenzene by dual adsorption/catalytic oxidation over activated carbon fibers (ACFs) loaded with transition metal oxides (TMOs). The TMOs were successfully ACFs incipient wetness impregnation method, which has advantages easy preparation, low cost, and size uniformity. removal effects for (CB) investigated pristine TMOs@ACFs in a fix-bed reactor. experiments result demonstrated that can be used as very efficient adsorbent low-concentration CB at temperature 120 °C; breakthrough time reach 15 h an inlet concentration 5000 ppmv space velocity 20,000 h−1. As bed rose above 175 °C, mainly contributed to catalytic MnO2; preferable ratio was achieved higher temperatures presence more MnO2. Therefore, effectively removed adsorbent/catalyst MnO2@ACF full range below 300 °C.

Removing Undesirable Vocs from Biogases Using the Electrochemical Swing Adsorption onto Activated Carbon Fiber Cloths

Introduction The development of alternative and renewable energies is one of the crucial opportunities exhibited by governments to remediate the diminishing resources of the fossil feedstock. Biogases collected from landfill, digester and wastewater plants constitute a large and disposable supply to produce a rich methane stream, though these resources remain mostly unused. The biogas should be...

Catalytic Properties of Activated Carbon Surface in the Process of Adsorption/oxidation of Methyl Mercaptan

This research focuses on activated carbons as adsorbents and catalysts for the removal of methyl mercaptan (MM) – odoriferous sulfur-containing compound commonly added to natural gas for leak detection purposes. Activated carbons are well known for their exceptional ability to adsorb some acidic gases. The application of activated carbons to remove hydrogen sulfide (one of the natural gas conta...

Catalytic Aerobic Oxidation of Alkenes by Ag@Metal Organic Framework with High Catalytic Activity and Selectivity

By coupling of Fe2O3@SiO2 particles with metal organic Framework (MOF) the magnetic MOF structure was fabricated. Precipitation and hydrothermal methods were applied for synthesis of core and MOF. Silver nanoparticles were deposited on nickel based metal organic framework surface and magnetic Fe2O3@SiO2@MOF@Ag was obtained. Because of strong coupling between silver nanoparticles and metal organ...

Density-functional theory study of the catalytic oxidation of CO over transition metal surfaces

In recent years, due to improvements in calculation methods and increased computer power, it has become possible to perform first-principles investigations for ‘simple’ chemical reactions at surfaces. We have carried out such studies for the catalytic oxidation of CO at transition metal surfaces, in particular, at the ruthenium surface for which unusual behavior compared to other transition met...

Electrical and Catalytic Properties of Some Oxides with the Fluorite or Pyrochlore Structure Part 2 : Catalytic Oxidation of Carbon Monoxide

The catalytic properties of mixed oxides with the fluorite or pyrochlore structure were investigated using CO oxidation. The presence of ions with a variable valence state, the size of the ions and especially the extent of pyrochlore ordering affect kinetic behaviour and activity of the investigated materials.
